On Sunday 1 March 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the Smith Family annual Open Day.

In the afternoon, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce received the Lord Prior of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, Professor Anthony Mellows and Mrs Elizabeth Mellows, and Chancellor of the Priory in Australia, Dr Neil Conn AO.

On Saturday 28 February 2009, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Malta, His Excellency Dr Edward Fenech Adami, by Commander Geoffrey Fiedler ADC RAN, an Honorary Aide-de-camp.

In the evening, at Canberra Stadium, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as Patron of Brumbies Rugby, attended the ACT Brumbies versus Western Force rugby match.

On Friday 27 February 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the Director, Research School of Social Sciences Australian National University, Professor David Marsh and the Director, Centre for Rural and Regional Studies, Australian National University, Dr Linda Botterill.

On Thursday 26 February 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received from His Excellency Dato Salman bin Ahmad, Letters of Commission accrediting him as the High Commissioner for Malaysia. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mr Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin (Deputy High Commissioner), Mr Alias Yahaya (Counsellor), Colonel Mohd Hassan Loman (Defence Adviser) High Commission of Malaysia. The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE also received Mrs Karina Yusoff.

Later, the Governor-General received the Australian Human Rights Commissioner, Commissioner Tom Calma; the Vice President Australian Indigenous Doctors' Association, Dr Peter O'Mara; the Operations Manager National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation, Ms Elaine Lomas; the Chair Indigenous Dentists' Association of Australia, Dr Christopher Bourke; and a member of the Congress of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nurses, Ms Vicki Bradford.

On Tuesday 24 February 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE received the President of the Republic of Malta, His Excellency Dr Edward Fenech Adami KUOM BA LL.D and Mrs Mary Fenech Adami.

On Monday 23 February 2009, at Government House Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a luncheon hosted by the Governor of New South Wales Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE.

On Sunday 22 February 2009, at Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the Together for Victoria - National Day of Mourning and Memorial Service to honour the victims of Victoria's devastating bushfires and to recognise the courage and tireless efforts of emergency service workers.
