On Friday 20 February 2009, at Federation Square, Melbourne, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the inaugural Dame Elisabeth Murdoch Annual Luncheon in support of the Royal Children's Hospital, at which the Governor-General delivered the keynote address.

On Thursday 19 February 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the Director of the Ministry of Health, People's Republic of China, Mr Kong Lingzhi, and the Director of the National Institute of Mental Health, People's Republic of China, Professor Yu Xin.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General received the Rector of All Saints Church Ainslie, the Venerable Doctor Sarah Macneil.

On Tuesday 17 February 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the National President of Scouts Australia, Sir William Deane AC KBE; the Chief Commissioner of Scouts Australia, Mr Reginald Williams RFD; the National Project Commissioner of Scouts Australia, Mr Graeme Fordham AM; and the National Chief Executive of Scouts Australia, Mr Richard Miller.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General received the Chief Executive Officer, Ramahyuck District Aboriginal Corporation, Dr Ali Khan. Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Australian High Commissioner-designate to Brunei Darussalam, Mr Mark Sawers. In the evening, the Governor of Western Australia, His Excellency Dr Ken Michael AC and Mrs Julie Michael arrived at Government House and remained overnight as houseguests.

On Sunday 15 February 2009, at Christ Church Whittlesea, Victoria, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a service in support of those affected by the bush fires.

On Saturday 14 February 2009, in Ingham, Queensland, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE visited local cane and cattle properties to view the devastation to agriculture and livestock caused by the recent floods.

On Friday 13 February 2009, in Ingham, Queensland, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Mayor of Hinchinbrook Shire Council, Councillor Giuseppantonio Giandomenico, visited members of the local community affected by the recent floods and thanked emergency services personnel, local volunteers and support groups involved in the relief and recovery efforts.

In the evening, at Ingham Shire Hall, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a community barbecue.

On Thursday 12 February 2009, at the Integrated Emergency Coordination Centre (IECC) Melbourne, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE met with the Premier of Victoria, the Honourable John Brumby MP, and later, as guests of the Chairman, Country Fire Authority, Mr Kerry Murphy PSM AFSM, received a briefing on the Victorian bushfires and met with IECC staff.

On Wednesday 11 February 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received a farewell call from the High Commissioner for the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Mr Kofi Sekyiamah and Mrs Olga June Sekyiamah.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Minister for Defence, the Honourable Joel Fitzgibbon MP.
