On Friday 5 December 2008, at HMAS CRESWELL, Jervis Bay, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, attended the Graduation Parade of New Entry Officers Course 39, at which the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief of the Australian Defence Force, reviewed the Parade, presented the Royal Australian Naval College Prize and delivered the address.

On Thursday 4 December 2008, at Navy House, Duntroon, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Russ Crane AM CSM RAN attended a ceremony, at which the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, presented the King's Gold Medal to Captain Walter Wright RAN (Retd).

On Wednesday 3 December 2008, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the National Chief Executive Officer of St John Ambulance, Ms Margaret Morton and the Chancellor of St John Ambulance, Dr Neil Conn AO.

On Tuesday 2 December 2008, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE received the Honourable Gough Whitlam AC QC and Mrs Margaret Whitlam AO.

On Monday 1 December 2008, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC hosted a reception for the finalists of the Australia-at-Large Rhodes Scholarships.

In the evening, the Governor-General, as Chief Scout, hosted a reception for Scouts Australia and presented the Queen's Scout and Baden Powell Awards.

On Thursday 27 November 2008, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received from His Excellency Lieutenant General Masud Uddin Chowdhury, Letters of Commission accrediting him as the High Commissioner for the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mr Mahbub Saleh (Counsellor), Mr Nazrul Islam (Counsellor), and Mr Mohammed Huq (Counsellor), High Commission of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE also received Mrs Jasmin Masud.

On Wednesday 26 November 2008, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a morning tea for the General Sir John Monash Foundation where the Governor-General, as Patron-in-Chief, presented the 2009 General Sir John Monash awards.

On Tuesday 25 November 2008, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the President, Global Filipinos Australia, Ms Lolita Farmer OAM.

Earlier, the Governor-General received a farewell call from the Ambassador of the European Union, His Excellency Mr Bruno Julien.
