On Saturday 19 May 2007, at St Stephen's Uniting Church, Sydney, the Administrator Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, presented Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award Certificates.

Later, at Brookfield, Queensland, Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery, on behalf of the Governor-General, officially opened the 2007 Brookfield Show and presented the inaugural Brookfield and District Community Award, as well as prizes to other show participants. In the evening, the Governor-General returned to Australia at the completion of his official visit to Samoa.

On Friday 18 May 2007, following the departure from Australia of the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC on an official visit to the Independent State of Samoa, the Proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia was signed by the Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO.

On Wednesday 16 May 2007, at the Emergency Services Centre, Nowra, Their Excellencies the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery met participants in the Shoalhaven Youth Volunteer Initiative. The Governor-General, as Patron of Surf Life Saving Australia, presented Bronze Medallions to four members of the Surf Life Saving South Coast Branch.

On Tuesday 15 May 2007, at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, Their Excellencies the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, and Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended a ceremony to dedicate the Pacific Islands Regiment Commemorative Plaque and the New Guinea Volunteer Rifles/Australia New Guinea Administrative Unit Commemorative Plaque, at which the Governor-General delivered an address.

On Monday 14 May 2007, at Government House, Canberra, Their Excellencies the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, as Patron of Royal United Services Institute of Australia, and Mrs??Marlena Jeffery, hosted a reception for guests attending the RUSI International Seminar, at which the Governor-General invested General John Abizaid, former Commander US Central Command, as an Honorary Officer in the Order of Australia.

On Saturday 12 May 2007, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of the President of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Ludwig Scott MP, by Colonel S. Tulley AM, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

Afterwards, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Australia of the Governor-General of Tuvalu, His Excellency Reverend Filoimea Telito, by Colonel D. Scanlan CSM RFD, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

On Friday 11 May 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC received the Australian Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Serbia, Ms Clare Birgin.

On Thursday 10 May 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, Her Excellency Mrs??Marlena Jeffery hosted a morning tea for members of the Parliamentary Partners Association. Later, Their Excellencies hosted an afternoon tea for members attending the Annual General Meeting of the Association of Former Members of the Parliament of Australia.

On Wednesday, 9 May 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC received from His Excellency Mr Stephen Chiketa, Letters of Credence accrediting him as Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Felix Nyamupinga (Counsellor); Mr Givemore Nyanzou (First Secretary); and Mr Moses Chikanyairo (Second Secretary), Embassy of the Republic of Zimbabwe.

On Monday 7 May 2007, at Waterford, Western Australia, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery, as guests of Mr Ross Kelly AM, Chairman and Mr Gerard Neesham, Managing Director, the Clontarf Foundation, conducted a tour of Clontarf Aboriginal College.
