On Sunday 1 October 2017, at the Fairmont Hotel, Abu Dhabi, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove received a briefing from the Australian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), His Excellency Mr Arthur Spyrou.

In the afternoon, at Mushrif Palace, Abu Dhabi, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, attended a ceremonial welcome.

Vienna, Austria; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; Melbourne, VIC

On Saturday 30 September 2017, at the Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles factory, Vienna, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Managing Director, Mr Bernhard Pöltl, received a briefing on operations and viewed the facility.

Afterwards, at Vienna International Airport, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove were farewelled from Austria by the Ambassador to Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Hungary, Kosovo and the Slovak Republic, His Excellency Dr Brendan Hammer.

On Friday 29 September 2017, at the Intercontinental Hotel, Budapest, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove received a briefing from the Ambassador to Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Hungary, Kosovo and the Slovak Republic, His Excellency Dr Brendon Hammer.

In the afternoon, at the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Vienna, the Governor-General met with the Secretary-General of OSCE, Dr Thomas Greminger.

Budapest, Hungary; Solymár, Hungary; Szentendre, Hungary

On Thursday 28 September 2017, at Parliament House, Budapest, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove met with the Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, Mr László Kövér.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Hungarian Parliament, conducted a tour of the facilities and met with staff.

Brussels, Belgium; Budapest, Hungary

On Wednesday 27 September 2017, at Brussels National Airport, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove were farewelled from the Kingdom of Belgium by the Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, His Excellency Dr Mark Higgie.

Afterwards, at Liszt Ferenc Airport, Budapest, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove were welcomed to Hungary by the Ambassador to Hungary, Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, the Slovak Republic and Slovenia, His Excellency Dr Brendon Hammer.

On Monday 25 September 2017, at the Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium's Residence, Brussels, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove met with the Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, His Excellency Dr Mark Higgie and received a briefing.

Afterwards, at the European Parliament, Brussels, the Governor-General attended a meeting with the Chair of the European Parliament Trade Committee, Mr Bernd Lange.

Dublin, Ireland; Brussels, Belgium

On Sunday 24 September 2017, at Grangegorman Military Cemetery, Dublin, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Park Superintendent, Mr Paul McDonnell, conducted a tour of the cemetery and the graves of Australian and New Zealand Service Personnel, during which the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove laid a wreath beneath the memorial stone.

On Saturday 23 September 2017, at Balbriggan Men’s Shed, Dublin, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman of the Irish Men’s Sheds Association, Mr George Kelly, viewed the facilities and met with members of the shed.

On Friday 22 September 2017, at Arthur Cox Headquarters, Dublin, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the Irish-Australian Chamber of Commerce, Mr Peter Oakes, attended a breakfast meeting and addressed members of the Irish-Australian Chamber of Commerce.
