On Saturday 19 August 2017, at ANZ Stadium, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman of Australian Rugby Union, Mr Cameron Clyne, attended the 2017 Bledisloe Cup opening match between the QANTAS Wallabies and the All Blacks.

On Friday 18 August 2017, at the Australian Vietnam Forces National Memorial, Campbell, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, attended the Vietnam Veterans’ Day Remembrance Service, at which the Governor-General delivered an address and with Lady Cosgrove, laid a wreath.

On Thursday 17 August 2017, at the Ian Potter Foundation Technology Learning Centre, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Director of Questacon, Professor Graham Durant AM, viewed the facilities and met with staff and students participating in Science Week at Questacon.

In the afternoon, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted an afternoon tea for the National Police Search and Rescue Managers Course.

On Wednesday 16 August 2017, at Macgregor Primary School, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Principal, Ms Jennifer Hall, met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, Professor José Carlos Mahia, and received a briefing on the Sister School program with Escuela 190 ‘Australia’, Montevideo, Uruguay.

On Tuesday 15 August 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Australian Ambassador to the Republic of Croatia, Ms Elizabeth Petrovic.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a Ceremonial Welcome for the President of the Republic of Croatia, Her Excellency Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and Mr Jakov Kitarović.

On Monday 14 August 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) received the High Commissioner to Solomon Islands, Mr Rod Brazier.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove received the Prime Minister of Solomon Islands, the Honourable Manasseh Damukana Sogavare MP, and Madam Mrs Emmy Sogavare.

On Sunday 13 August 2017, at the Woolamai Beach Surf Life Saving Club, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President, Mr Rob Murphy, viewed the club house and met with members.

Afterwards, at the National Vietnam Veteran’s Museum, Phillip Island, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a Defence and Employment Platoon plaque unveiling and dedication.

Brisbane, QLD; Phillip Island, VIC

On Saturday 12 August 2017, at Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital, Brisbane, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Executive Officer, Ms Fionnagh Dougan, viewed the facilities and met with staff and patients.

Afterwards, at the Brisbane Showgrounds, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland, the Honourable Justice David Thomas, officially opened the 2017 Royal Queensland Show.

On Friday 11 August 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Secretary, Department of Prime Minster and Cabinet, Dr Martin Parkinson AC PSM, and the Deputy Secretary Governance, Department of Prime Minster and Cabinet, Ms Elizabeth Kelly PSM.

Earlier, the Governor-General received a video call from St Thomas More’s Primary School, ACT; and Charles Campbell College, SA, as part of their civics and citizenship classes.
