On Tuesday 24 May 2016, at the Park Hyatt Hotel, Melbourne, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove attended a Lifeline Australia fundraising lunch, at which the Governor-General delivered the keynote address.

Afterwards, at Melbourne City Town Hall, the Governor-General, as Senior Patron, The Royal Humane Society of Australasia, and Lady Cosgrove attended a presentation ceremony, at which the Governor-General awarded the 2015 Stanhope Gold Medal to Mr Murray Barnewall.

On Monday 23 May 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Chief Executive of Prince’s Charities Australia, Ms Janine Kirk AM, and the Manager, Mr Aaron McNeilly.

On Saturday 21 May 2016, at Government House, Brisbane, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove met with the Governor of Queensland, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs de Jersey.

Afterwards, at Ballymore Stadium, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman, Australian Army Rugby Union Old Boys ‘Leopards’, Mr Murray Harley, attended the Australian Services Rugby Union Gala Day.

On Friday 20 May 2016, at Manly Boat Harbour, Brisbane, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Flotilla Commander, Commander Steve Fleming, visited the Brisbane Coast Guard base where they received capability briefs and viewed demonstrations.

Afterwards, in Yeronga, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the CEO, Access Community Services Ltd, Mrs Gail Ker OAM, met with clients, volunteers and staff at Harmony Place.

On Thursday 19 May 2016, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove, met with members of the Salvation Army and local school captains to mark the launch of the 2016 Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal door knock.

Afterwards, at RAAF Base Amberley, the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, met with the Senior ADF Officer, Air Commodore Scott Winchester, and the Base Military Leadership team.

On Wednesday 18 May 2016, at The Star, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron-in-Chief of the Australian Olympic Committee, and Lady Cosgrove, attended the ‘Athletes Farewell’ dinner for the Rio Team, at which the Governor-General delivered the keynote address.

On Tuesday 17 May 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove hosted a lunch for the African Heads of Mission of the Canberra Diplomatic Corps.

On Monday 16 May 2016, at Government House, Canberra, following the dissolution of the Senate and the House of Representatives on Monday 9 May 2016, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council to issue the writs for the 2016 Federal Election.

On Thursday 12 May 2016, at the Novotel Hotel, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Director, Mr Robert de Castella AO MBE visited the Indigenous Marathon Project’s 2016 Camp.

Afterwards, at Government House, the Governor-General received the President of Australian Red Cross, Mr Michael Legge and the Chief Executive Officer, Ms Judy Slatyer.
