Swearing-in Ceremony

At Government House, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General issued the Instrument of Appointment and Oath of Office to the newly appointed Prime Minister, the Honourable Malcolm Turnbull MP.

On Monday 14 September 2015, at Government House, Canberra, Lady Cosgrove, accompanied by the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) hosted a morning tea and a garden tour for the Parliamentary Partners Association.

Afterwards, at the Embassy of the United States of America, Yarralumla, Lady Cosgrove, accompanied by the Governor-General, as guests of the Ambassador, His Excellency Mr John Berry planted an “Eleanor Roosevelt” oak sapling and attended a barbecue lunch with Embassy staff.

Kangaroo Recruitment Centenary March Re-enactment Celebrations

On Sunday 13 September 2015, at Wallendbeen, New South Wales, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman of the Wallendbeen Kangaroo March Committee, Mr David Jacobs and the President of the Kangaroo March Centenary Re-Enactment Association, Mr Graham Brown attended the Kangaroo Recruitment Centenary March Re-enactment Celebrations.

Visit to the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet; 28 Squadron Governor-General’s Banner Consecration Parade; Reception for the Scout National Youth Council

On Friday 11 September 2015, at the Andrew Fisher Building, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest of Secretary, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Mr Michael Thawley, met with Department staff.

Afterwards, at the Australian Defence Force Academy, the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, attended the 28 Squadron Governor-General’s Banner Consecration Parade, at which the Governor-General was the Reviewing Officer.
