National Launch of Legacy Week

At the Martin Place Cenotaph, Sydney, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman, Legacy Australia Incorporated, Legatee Mr David Gray, attended the National Launch of Legacy Week at which the Governor-General made the keynote address then laid a wreath with Lady Cosgrove and two junior Legatees, Miss Tanesha Hancock and Miss Kyala Hancock.

Visit to Dubbo; Children’s Cancer Institute Diamond Ball

On Saturday 29 August 2015, in Dubbo, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Director of Parks and Landcare Services, Mr Murray Wood viewed the Barden Park Regional Centre of Excellence for Athletics and met with coaches, young athletes and their families.

Afterwards, at the NSW Volunteers Rescue Association, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Commissioner, Mr Mark Gibson, attended a morning tea with volunteers and community members.

On Friday 28 August 2015, in Dubbo, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Centre Manager, Mr Kimble Appleyard visited Orana Juvenile Justice Centre.

Afterwards, at Charles Sturt University, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Andrew Vann, attended a morning tea with staff and academics, then met with students from the School of Indigenous Australian Studies.

Later, at the Dubbo College Senior Campus, the Governor-General as Patron and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Principal, Mr Andrew Jones and Director, Clontarf Foundation, Mr Ryan Woolfe, and received a brief on Clontarf Foundation Dubbo and attended a lunch with students and staff.

At Taronga Western Plains Zoo, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove as guests of the Director and Chief Executive, Taronga Conservation Society Australia, Mr Cameron Kerr, and General Manager, Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Mr Matthew Fuller viewed Zoo exhibitions and met with students and staff involved in the Walanmarra Indigenous youth education program.

At the Dubbo Neighbourhood Centre, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove as guests of the Executive Officer, Ms Debbie Todkill, viewed the Centre facilities and attended an afternoon tea to acknowledge the work of volunteers.

St Francis of Assisi Regional Primary School visit; Australian Rugby Union Wallabies lunch and farewell; Visit to Dubbo

On Thursday 27 August 2015, in Paddington, Sydney, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, visited students and staff at St Francis of Assisi Regional Primary School.

Later, at Martin Place, Sydney, the Governor-General as Patron and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President, Australian Rugby Union, Dr John Coolican, attended a lunch and public farewell for the Wallabies prior to their departure for the Rugby World Cup.

At the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Dubbo, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Director, Mr Terry Clarke and General Manager, Mr David Charlton, viewed the Royal Flying Doctor Service Education Centre.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove as guests of the Club Manager, Mr Mark Nuttall, viewed the Police and Community Youth Centre facilities, were briefed on the available programs and met with staff, participants and parents.
