ANZAC Day Dawn Service; Investiture; National Day ceremony; Veterans’ gathering; Farewell from Australia of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge; Super Rugby match

On Friday 25 April 2014, at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, as guests of the Chairman of the Council of the War Memorial, Rear Admiral Ken Doolan AO RAN (Retd), the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove attended the ANZAC Day Dawn Service.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended an investiture at which Mr Mark Fraser LVO OAM was invested with the insignia of Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order by His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge.

Federal Executive Council; Afternoon tea at Morshead home; Reception for Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

On Thursday 24 April 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Secretary of the Department of Health, Professor Jane Halton PSM.

Later, at Morshead Home, Lyneham, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Southern Region General Manager of RSL LifeCare, Ms Elizabeth Jenkins, attended an afternoon tea with residents.

Visit to Horsham

At the Horsham Regional Livestock Exchange, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Manager, Mr Paul Christopher, met with local farmers during sale day.

Afterwards, at Meringa Springs Lodge, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Proprietors, Mr Paul Widmer and Mrs Gail Widmer, met with fire affected members of the local community and received a briefing by fire authorities.

Visit to Horsham

On Wednesday 23 April 2014, in Horsham, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, were welcomed at the airport by the Mayor of Horsham, Councillor David Grimble and Mrs Jenny Grimble; and Councillors Robin Barber; Sue Exell; Heather Phillips and Mark Radford.

Afterwards, at the Horsham Regional Livestock Exchange, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Manager, Mr Paul Christopher, met with local farmers during sale day.

At the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies, Canberra, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Principal, Mr Russell Taylor, visited the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies in recognition of the institute’s 50th anniversary.

On Tuesday 22 April 2014, at the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Principal, Mr Russell Taylor, visited the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies in recognition of the institute’s 50th anniversary.

Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove received Their Majesties King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau’u of Tonga.

On Thursday 17 April 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, received the former Thailand Chief of Defence Force and former Deputy Commander of INTERFET, General Songkitti Jaggabatara, accompanied by Mrs Poranee Jaggabatara, Miss Kittinee Jaggabatara and Mr Kittibhumi Jaggabatara.
