Afterwards, at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne, the Governor-General, as a guest of the Chairman, Mr Ken Harrison, attended a commemorative ceremony in honour of the ANZAC centenary and planted a Gallipoli Oak.

At the Shrine of Remembrance, Melbourne, VIC, the Governor-General, as a guest of the Chief Executive, Mr Denis Baguley, viewed the Galleries of Remembrance, officially opened to the public on Remembrance Day 2014.

At Main Ridge, VIC, the Governor-General officially opened the Main Ridge Rural Fire Station and met with staff, volunteers, families and members of the local community.

At the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Melbourne, VIC, the Governor-General, as Patron, attended the Australasian College of Road Safety (ACRS) awards ceremony and presented the Fellowship award and the 3M – ACRS Diamond Road Safety awards.

On Wednesday 12 November 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a morning tea for Legacy Club of Canberra widows.

Earlier, at Brisbane Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of the President of the Republic of South Africa, His Excellency Mr Jacob Zuma, by Mr Stephen Murtagh, Deputy Official Secretary to the Governor-General.

On Tuesday 11 November 2014, at the Australian War Memorial, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman of the Australian War Memorial Council, Rear Admiral Ken Doolan AO RAN (Retd), attended the Remembrance Day National Ceremony.

Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, hosted an afternoon tea for Families of the Fallen.

At the Australian War Memorial (AWM), Canberra, ACT, the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief of the Australian Defence Force, and Lady Cosgrove attended the Remembrance Day National Ceremony, as guests of the Chairman of the AWM Council, Rear Admiral Ken Doolan AO RAN (Retd).

On Monday 10 November 2014, at Government House, Darwin, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General administered the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Office of the Administrator of the Northern Territory to His Honour Mr John Hardy OAM.

On Sunday 9 November 2014, on West Island, Cocos (Keeling) Islands, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, attended a commemorative service in recognition of the centenary of the Sydney-Emden Battle, at which the Governor-General officially unveiled the Sydney-Emden Friendship Mast and Memorial in the presence of families and friends of the decendants of the crews of HMAS Sydney and SMS Emden.
