Wreath laying ceremony; Departure ceremony from Canberra

On Wednesday 26 March 2014, at the Australian War Memorial, the Governor-General the Honourable Dame Quentin Bryce AD CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Chair, Rear Admiral Ken Doolan AO RAN (Retd), and Director, the Honourable Dr Brendan Nelson, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Australian Soldier.

Federal Executive Council; Call from the Prime Minister; Parliamentary reception

On Tuesday 25 March 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Earlier, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, the Honourable Tony Abbott MP, Her Majesty The Queen was pleased to approve the award of Dame of the Order of Australia to the Governor-General.
