On Saturday 8 November 2014, on Direction Island, Cocos (Keeling) Islands, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Shire President of Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Mr Aindil Minkom, attended a community event at which the Governor-General officially opened the Cocos (Keeling) Islands Shire Sydney-Emden Gazebo and Direction Island Interpretative Trails, in the presence of families and friends of the descendants of the crews of HMAS Sydney and SMS Emden.

On Friday 7 November 2014, at the Port Hedland Yacht Club, Western Australia, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President, Mr Val Middleton, attended a breakfast with members of the Port Hedland RSL Sub branch.

Afterwards, at Nelson Point, Port Hedland, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove met with staff of BHP Billiton Iron Ore’s Nelson Point Facility and viewed operations.

On Thursday 6 November 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron of Lions Australia, received past President of the International Lions Club, Mr Barry Palmer AM, and Mr Gary Parker.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, His Excellency Mr Mark Rutte.

At Government House, Canberra, ACT, the Governor-General welcomed the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, His Excellency Mr Mark Rutte, before holding discussions.

On Wednesday 5 November 2014, at the Town Hall, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, attended the State Memorial Service for the late the Honourable Gough Whitlam AC QC, and afterwards met with members of the Whitlam family.

Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove met with members of the Australian Bravery Decorations Council and the crew of the Snowy Hydro Southcare helicopter to view a briefing on rescue operations.

On Tuesday 4 November 2014, at Flemington Racecourse, Melbourne, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman of the Victoria Racing Club, Mr Michael Burn, attended the Melbourne Cup Day at which the Governor-General presented the trophy to the winning owner of the 2014 Emirates Melbourne Cup, Dr Christoph Berglar.

On Monday 3 November 2014, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron of The Duke of Edinburgh Award in Australia, and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a reception in recognition of the award’s 50th anniversary, in the presence of His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex to dinner.

On Sunday 2 November 2014, in Albany, Western Australia, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the Albany Surf Life Saving Club, Ms Celia Waugh, visited the club and met with staff and volunteers.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Commander of the Regional Western Australia Police, Commander Murray Smalpage APM, visited the Albany Police Station and Albany Command Centre and met with Australian Federal Police and West Australian police members.

On Saturday 1 November 2014, in Albany, Western Australia, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, attended the Albany Convoy Commemorative Troop March at which the Governor-General received the salute.

Afterwards, at the ANZAC Peace Park, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended the Albany Convoy Commemorative Service at which the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove laid a wreath in remembrance.

On Friday 31 October 2014, at the Vancouver Arts Centre, Albany, Western Australia, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Mayor of the City of Albany, His Worshipful Dennis Wellington, attended a Council morning tea and met with key stakeholders and community volunteers..
