Later, Ms Bryce met with staff and students in recognition of the school’s 50th anniversary.

On Thursday 23 May 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, received a farewell call from the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, His Excellency Mr Taeyong Cho.
Afterwards, at the Gallery of Australian Design (GAD), Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as Patron of the GAD, attended an award presentation for ‘The Lodge on the Lake’ Design Competition.
The Governor-General participated as a guest reader in National Simultaneous Storytime, reading ‘The Wrong Book’ by Nick Bland, at Customs House, Sydney.
On Wednesday 22 May 2013, at Customs House, Sydney, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as guest of the Board Member for the Australian Library and Information Association, Dr Edmund Balnaves, participated as a guest reader in National Simultaneous Storytime, reading ‘The Wrong Book’ by Nick Bland.
On Tuesday 21 May 2013, at The Rocks, Sydney, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the CEO of Cricket Australia, Mr James Sutherland, attended a lunch in support of women’s cricket.
The Governor-General formally opened the ‘Getting a Life’ Intentional Community in Phillip, ACT, before meeting residents and their family members.

Afterwards, in Phillip, the Governor-General, as guest of the Chief Minister, Ms Katy Gallagher MLA, formally opened the ‘Getting a Life’ Intentional Community and met with residents and their families.
On Sunday 19 May 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, hosted a morning tea for Sydney Women’s College alumni.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, attended the Canberra International Music Festival event, ‘In Praise of Creative Women.’
The Ambassador of Costa Rica, His Excellency Mr Jairo Hernandez, presented credentials to the Governor-General at Government House, Canberra.
