Credentials Ceremonies; Canberra International Music Festival

On Friday 17 May 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, received from His Excellency Ms Tseggai Tesfozion Sereke, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the State of Eritrea. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Besher Idriss-Nour Omer (Consul-General).

Afterwards, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Jairo Hernandez Milian, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Republic of Costa Rica.

On Thursday 16 May 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Mr Peter Varghese AO, attended a morning tea with the new intake of graduate trainees.

Lunch for the European Australian Business Council delegation; Dinner for the Australian Bravery Council

On Wednesday 15 May 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, hosted a lunch for members of the European Australian Business Council. Guests included: Mr Angus Armour; Mr Christian Bennett; Mr Jason Collins; Mr David Epstein; Mr Hokan Eriksson; Professor Stephanie Fahey; Mr Stephen Fitzgerald; Mr Bruce Gosper; Mr Gavin Jackman; Ms Jo Johns; Mr Paul Koenig; Mr Stephen Loosley; Mr John Maccoll OAM; Mr Russell Miller; the Honourable Dr Brendan Nelson; Mr Marc Snape; and Mr Alastair Walton.

Governor-General visits Bathurst, NSW

The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce attended a Civic Reception in recognition of National Families Week at the Pit Complex, Mount Panorama, in Bathurst.

Later, in Keppel Street, Ms Bryce and Mr Bryce met with local small business owners and community members.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a business networking function at Charles Sturt University as guests of the President of the Bathurst Business Chamber, Mr Angus Edwards.

Governor-General visits Bathurst, NSW

At the Towri Multi-functional Aboriginal Child Care Service in Bathurst, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce, as guests of the Director, Ms Dianne Frazer, viewed the centre and met with staff and children.

Afterwards, the Ms Bryce and Mr Bryce visited the Carenne School and viewed the facilities and met with staff and students.

Governor-General visits Bathurst, NSW

The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce were driven on a lap of Mount Panorama in historic race cars during a visit to the National Motor Racing Museum.

Afterwards, at Charles Sturt University, Ms Bryce and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Andrew Vann, met with undergraduate students and viewed the Dental and Oral Health Clinic before attending a lunch hosted in their honour.
