Visit to Lockhart River

The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE arrived in Lockhart River, Queensland, and were welcomed by the Chair of the Puuya Foundation, Ms Dottie Hobson, and CEO Ms Denise Hagan.

Later, Ms Bryce, as Patron of the Puuya Foundation, and Mr Bryce attended an afternoon tea and 'learning circle' with Puuya Foundation members and the Lockhart River Aboriginal Shire Council.

Visit to Lockhart River

In Lockhart River, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE met local residents while assisting with the preparations for a community dinner.

Later at the dinner, Ms Bryce received a traditional welcome and, as Patron, presented the Puuya Foundation Achievement awards at the Lockhart River Community Hall.

Visit to Townsville

On Friday 26 July 2013, at the Salt Cellar Restaurant, Townsville, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guest of the Chair of the Australian Festival of Chamber Music, Ms Jennifer Bott AO and Artistic Director Mr Piers Lane AO, attended a lunch for the AFCM’s Chairman’s Circle

Federal Executive Council; Investiture Ceremony

On Thursday 25 July 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General, as the Chancellor of the Order of Australia, invested Major General Timothy McOwan AO DSC CSM with the insignia of Officer of the Order of Australia.

On Wednesday 24 July 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO received the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia, His Excellency Mr Vicencije Biuk.

In the evening, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Vanuatu, His Excellency Mr Iola Johnson Abbil, by Group Captain Sue McGready ADC, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

Klavier Music Association

On Sunday 21 July 2013, at Government House, Canberra, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as Patron, hosted a musical afternoon for the Klavier Music Association.

Afterwards, at Canberra Stadium, Mr Bryce, as Patron and guest of the Brumbies Chief Executive Officer, Mr Andrew Fagan, attended the Brumbies versus Cheetahs Super Rugby Finals match.
