Credentials

On Wednesday 26 June 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, received from His Excellency Mr Nabil Al Saleh, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Reda Alnuzha (Counsellor) and Dr Abdulaziz Bin Taleb (Cultural Attaché). The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE also received Mrs Muneera Al Hammadi.

Official launch of a commemorative coronation coin

On Friday 21 June 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO received the Mayor of Lockyer Valley, Counsellor Steve Jones.

Afterwards, at the Royal Australian Mint, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General officially launched the commemorative coloured circulating $2 coin celebrating the 60th anniversary of the coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Australia for UNHCR World Refugee Day Breakfast

On Thursday 20 June 2013, at The Westin Hotel, Sydney, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as Patron and guest of the National Director of Australia for UNHCR, Ms Naomi Steer, delivered an address at the UNHCR World Refugee Day Breakfast.

Earlier, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of the Governor-General of the Solomon Islands, His Excellency Sir Frank Ofagioro Kabui, by Brigadier Greg Bilton CSC ADC, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

Credentials; Reception for the Board of the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust

On Tuesday 18 June 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, received from his Excellency Mr Hussain Shihab, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the High Commissioner of the Republic of the Maldives.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the President of the International Diabetes Federation, Sir Michael Hirst; the CEO of Diabetes Australia, Professor Greg Johnson; the President of Diabetes Australia, Ms Moira Watson and Diabetes Australia Ambassador, Mr Guy Barnett.
