At the European Council in Belgium, the Governor-General attended a meeting with the President of the European Council, Mr Herman Van Rompuy.
Afterwards, at the Silken Berlaymont Hotel, the Governor-General, in the company of the Director-General for Enterprise and Industry for the European Union, Mr Daniel Calleja Crespo, officially launched the inaugural Australia-Europe Leadership Dialogue.
On Tuesday 4 June 2013, at the University of Sydney, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, delivered an address at the launch of the Sydney University Law Society Careers' Guide, as part of the Publicly Interested Careers Fair.

In Ieper, Belgium, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce met the Mayor, Mr Jan Durnez, before attending an investiture ceremony at the Town Hall.
Ms Bryce, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, invested Mr Johan Durnez with the Honorary Medal of the Order of Australia, for service to Australian-Belgian relations, particularly his contribution to promoting the role played by Australians during World War I in Belgium.
At the Menin Gate Memorial, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Mayor, and the Chairman of the Last Post Association, Mr Benoit Mottrie, attended the Last Post ceremony at which the Governor-General laid a wreath, and later met with Australian community members.

At the Australian Embassy in Paris, the Governor-General attended a business seminar with members of the European Australian Business Council, which was presented by the Director of Notre Europe – Jacques Delors Institute, Mr Yves Bertoncini.
Later, Ms Bryce and the EABC members attended a roundtable discussion at the Banque de France.
