European Australian Business Council Mission to Europe

On Monday 3 June 2013, in Paris, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, attended a briefing for the European mission by the President of the European Australian Business Council, Mr Alastair Walton.

Afterwards, at the Mouvement des Entreprises de France International, the Governor-General, as guest of the Chairman, Mr Jean Burelle, and accompanied by members of the European Australian Business Council, attended a roundtable discussion on the economic outlook in Australia, the Asia Pacific, France and Europe.

Governor-General leads the European Australian Business Council at business meetings in Paris

At the Australian Embassy in Paris, the Governor-General attended a business seminar with members of the European Australian Business Council, which was presented by the Director of Notre Europe – Jacques Delors Institute, Mr Yves Bertoncini.

Later, Ms Bryce and the EABC members attended a roundtable discussion at the Banque de France.

Service of Choral Matins for the Diamond Jubilee of the Coronation of Her Majesty The Queen; European Australian Business Council Mission to Europe

On Sunday 2 June 2013, at the Parish Church of St James, Sydney, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, accompanied by Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE, attended a Service of Choral Matins on the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee of the Coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Governor-General hands over custodianship of Indigenous artwork

The Governor-General handed over custodianship of Ms Lena Nyadbi Indigenous artwork, ‘Dayiwul Lirmim’ (Barramundi Scales), which has been re-created as a permanent roof-top installation on the Musée du quai Branly in Paris.

As the guest of the President of the Museum, Mr Stéphane Martin, and accompanied by members of the European Australian Business Council, Ms Bryce congratulated Ms Nyadbi on producing an “awe-inspiring wonder from the Kimberley”.

On Saturday 1 June 2013, at the Hartley Historic Site, Hartley, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, officially opened the Kew-Y-Ahn Bell Rock Heritage Trail and Gallery as part of community events celebrating the first European crossing of the Blue Mountains in 1813.
