On Monday 28 December 2015, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Commissioner of the Royal Commission into Trade Union Governance and Corruption, the Honourable Justice John Dyson Heydon AC QC, and was presented the final report of the Royal Commission into Trade Union Governance and Corruption.

On Wednesday 23 December 2015, at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Paddington, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), attended the funeral service for the late Father Peter McGrath OFM.

On Friday 18 December 2015, at Parramatta, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Senior Minister and Group Chief Executive Officer, Reverend Keith Hamilton, visited Parramatta Mission to meet with staff, volunteers and clients and assist with the distribution of Christmas hampers and gifts.

On Thursday 17 December 2015, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove hosted a reception for the Australian Rugby Foundation at which the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, invested Mr Ron Graham OAM with the insignia of the Member of the Order of Australia.

On Tuesday 15 December 2015, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) received the Ambassador-designate to the United States of America, the Honourable Joe Hockey.

Later, the Governor-General received the Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil, His Excellency Rubem Correa Barbosa.

On Monday 14 December 2015, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove hosted a farewell dinner in honour of the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of the Argentine Republic, His Excellency Mr Pedro Raul Villagra Delgado.

Earlier, at Canberra Hospital, Lady Cosgrove visited the Canberra Region Cancer Centre.
