On Thursday 6 August 2015, in the Gallipoli Heritage Park, Turkey, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Governor of Ҫanakkale, Mr Ahmet Ҫinar, visited the 57th Regiment Memorial and laid a wreath in honour of Turkish soldiers who died during the Gallipoli Campaign.

In Istanbul, Turkey, at the Patriarchal Church of St George, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove met with the Greek Orthodox Ecumenical Patriarch and Archbishop of Constantinople and New Rome, His All Holiness Bartholomew I and conveyed greetings from the Government and people of Australia, including from members of Australia’s Greek and Orthodox communities.

Later, the Governor-General met with the Governor of Istanbul, Mr Vasip Sahin.

On Wednesday 5 August 2015, in Istanbul, Turkey, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove as guests of the Australian Consul-General in Istanbul, Mr Lino Strangis hosted a breakfast for Australian expatriates living and working in Istanbul.

Afterwards, at the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove met with Imam Ishak Kizilasian.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Director, Ms Sabriye Parlak, visited Hagia Sofia.

On Tuesday 4 August 2015, in Ankara, Turkey, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove as guests of the Australian Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey, His Excellency Mr James Larsen and Mrs Antoinette Merrillees, attended a morning tea with Australian Embassy staff.

In Ankara, Turkey, at Antikabir, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Commandant, Colonel Muzaffer Taytak, visited the Ataturk Mausoleum and laid a wreath in honour of the former President of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

Later, at the Presidential Palace, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the Republic of Turkey, His Excellency Mr Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Mrs Emine Erdoğan, attended a ceremonial welcome.

Then, the Governor-General met with President Erdoğan and Lady Cosgrove met with Mrs Erdoğan.

On Monday 3 August 2015, at Ankara International Airport, Turkey, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove attended a welcome ceremony.

Afterwards, in Ankara, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a briefing by the Australian Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey, His Excellency Mr James Larsen.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove as guests of the Director, Dr Emin Mahir Balcioglu, visited the Museum of Anatolian Civilisations.

On Sunday 2 August 2015, at Zabeel Palace, Dubai, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) met with Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in recognition of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Australia and the United Arab Emirates.

At Zabeel Palace, Dubai, the Governor-General met with Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in recognition of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Australia and the United Arab Emirates.

On Saturday 1 August 2015, following the departure from Australia of the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), the proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia was signed by the Governor of Queensland, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC.

Afterwards, in Singapore, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove as guests of the Australian High Commissioner to Singapore, His Excellency Mr Philip Green OAM, hosted a dinner for Australian High Commission staff.
