Earlier, at the Australian Defence Force Academy, the Governor-General, as Commander in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, attended the 2015 Australian Defence Force Academy graduation parade, at which the Governor-General reviewed the parade, presented the Commander-in-Chief medal and delivered an address.

On Wednesday 9 December 2015, at Llewellyn Hall, Australian National University, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Commander, Australian Defence College, Major General Simone Wilkie AM, attended the Australian Command and Staff College graduation ceremony and reception.

On Tuesday 8 December 2015, at the Royal Military College, Duntroon, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, attended the 2015 General Service Officer graduation parade and commissioning ceremony, at which the Governor-General inspected the Corps of Staff Cadets, delivered an address and presented commissions to new Officers.

On Monday 7 December 2015, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received from His Excellency Mr Mykola Kulinich, Letters of Credence accrediting him as Ambassador of the Ukraine. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Mykola Dzhydzhora (First Secretary). The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove also received Mrs Olena Kulinich.

At Government House, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a reception for ADFA and RMC-D graduands and the Spitfire Association, at which the Governor-General presented the 2016 Spitfire Memorial Defence Fellowship.

On Saturday 5 December 2015, at The Great Synagogue, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President, The Great Synagogue, the Honourable Justice Stephen Rothman AM, attended a Shacharit worship service.

On Friday 4 December 2015, at Fleet Base East, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Commander-in-Chief and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Commander Australian Fleet, RADM Stuart Mayer CSC and Bar RAN, attended the HMAS Adelaide Commissioning ceremony and reception.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Secretary of the Department of Education and Training, Ms Lisa Paul AO PSM.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a Christmas Sports Fun Day for students of Primary Schools in the Australian Capital Territory and surrounding region.
