Reflecting on her recognition, Bev shares:

“It’s nice to be recognised for many years of giving back to the community but that’s not why we do what we do, we do it because we love to help others and derive enjoyment from meeting so many interesting people and being involved in the community in so many ways.”

Her words capture the spirit of a lifetime spent putting others first. “It means a lot and I’m very humbled, because it shows me there are some people who appreciate me enough to think I am worthy of the award,” she adds.

For Bev, volunteering has always been about connection, generosity and showing up where it matters most. “You just do what you can to help others,” she says, reinforcing a simple yet powerful philosophy that has guided her decades of service.

Bev’s story demonstrates the strength of a community lies in the dedication of individuals who quietly and consistently give their time to support others. Her legacy serves as an inspiring reminder that volunteering matters.
