Dannielle (Danni) Bull ESM
Mrs Dannielle (Danni) Bull has worked in the Queensland State Emergency Service (SES) for nearly 20 years.
She receives an Emergency Services Medal (ESM) for her outstanding leadership and sustained commitment to frontline emergency management.
"I am honoured to receive this award … while I didn’t join the SES for awards or medals, it is great to see the organisation recognises hard work and dedication of its members."
Mrs Bull's leadership and expertise were critical in managing the Queensland SES response to the North Queensland floods in February 2025 and the devastation caused by ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred in March 2025.
As a highly experienced SES volunteer, Mrs Bull has served in a range of frontline roles including field operations member, group leader, and local controller. While maintaining active involvement in filed operations, Mrs Bull currently serves full-time as an area controller.
"I will continue to assist the community both as a volunteer and as a paid staff member. I am really lucky to be able to do something I am passionate about at work and as a volunteer."
Mrs Bull's other endeavours include supporting Queensland Police Service's land search operations and co-founding the Scenic Rim Mountain Goats, a specialised SES land search unit operating in rugged and remote terrain.
"So much of what I do is a group effort. While I am the one who has received this award, I couldn’t have done it without the support of my family, friends, colleagues from SES and other agencies, and fellow SES volunteers."
She continues, "thank you to all of those that have been a part of my journey so far and helped me to get to where I am. I can’t wait to see what the next 20 years bring."
Mrs Bull was recognised in the Australia Day 2026 Honours List alongside 948 other remarkable Australians.
